5 Underrated Kid-friendly, Parent-approved Vacation Destinations

If you’re anything like us, vacation has definitely been on the mind. You’re probably dreaming of seeing any place that isn’t your own living room, and we are right there with you. As the world is starting to open up again, we’re starting to plan our dream trips to make up for lost time. The good thing is, no matter where you’re headed, Zoe is right there with you. Our strollers are lightweight and collapsible, so no overhead bin or tiny car trunk will be getting in the way of your vacation. Here are five of our favorite travel destinations, loved not only by kids, but grown-ups too.

  • London, England
  • There are very few things not to love about London. From the amazing food, famous sites, and proximity to royals, what’s not to love? You can explore the Tate Modern to enjoy some art, as a family, snap some selfies together on the London Bridge, and even take a bus outside of the city to get a glimpse into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In London, public transport is super easy to navigate, and you won’t have any trouble folding up your Traveler as you take the steps down to catch the Tube. Not to mention, sticking to an English-speaking country helps smooth over logistics, so you can focus on enjoying time with the family!

  • Gulf Shores, Alabama
  • If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, where you can get a little more Vitamin Z, Gulf Shores should be at the top of your list. With less crowds than some other popular beaches, you’ll have the opportunity to relax, hopefully with a drink in hand. Open beaches give kids the opportunity to entertain themselves a bit (always a win), and enjoy themselves exploring nature. If you’re more of an active vacationer, you can go for a hike, bike tour, or even spend some time out on a catamaran. The opportunities are endless.

  • Barcelona, Spain
  • If you keep finding yourself saving Instagram photos of the Mediterranean, Barcelona might be the place for you. Take advantage of tapas culture with endless outdoor dining options (perfect if your kiddos are, uh, noisy), and a super convenient city beach. Get around the city by foot, taking in the stunning architecture as you go. If the kids are getting restless, there are plenty of city parks in every neighborhood, just in case you need to take breaks in between sangria stops.

  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • Whether you’re a history buff or not, you’ll find something the whole family will love in Boston. You could spend hours at the Public Garden and even rent Swan Boats with the kids. Learn more about American Roots on the Freedom Trail, or grab a pastry at a local bakery and stroll along charming, brick-paved streets. Or, if you fancy yourself more of an Anne of Green Gables type, take a day trip to Nantucket Island or Martha’s Vineyard. Head out on a boat with the kids, or rent bikes and take a family trip to the beach!

  • The Canadian Rockies
  • Close to home, but not too close. The Canadian Rockies are one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth, so if you want to instill a love for nature and travel in your kids, at a young age, this could be the destination for you. With plenty of excellent places to stay around Banff National Park, you’ll be well taken care of, and will have a great jumping off point for any activities you want to do. See the Rockies by train, or spend the days getting some Vitamin Z, hiking in the great outdoors.
